Taryn Ongsiako, LPC, NCC (she/her), has been providing outpatient mental and behavioral health therapy and intensive in-home therapy to individuals, groups, and families since 2012. She has experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and parents, with a focus on building practical skills that support emotional and behavioral well-being. Her therapeutic approach is client-centered and grounded in family systems, with treatment goals tailored to each client’s individual needs. She focuses on helping clients identify and process their feelings while developing healthier and more effective coping strategies for the future.

For more than 10 years, Taryn has worked with children, adolescents, and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, primarily those who are high-functioning or have Asperger’s. Through social skills groups, she incorporates healthy communication, coping strategies, and life skills that clients can apply in their everyday lives.

Taryn also has ongoing training and experience working individually and in groups with children and adolescents who exhibit sexually inappropriate or harmful behaviors, both adjudicated and non-adjudicated. Her experience also includes supporting victims of child sexual abuse, youth who have experienced trauma, and children and adolescents in therapeutic foster care.

In addition, Taryn works with parents individually and in group settings to strengthen parenting skills. Parenting sessions provide psychoeducation and practical strategies related to communication, parental stress and coping, positive nurturing, positive reinforcement, clear and consistent consequences, empathy, and building a child’s self-worth and self-confidence.

During your first visit, you can expect to meet with someone who is warm, approachable, and ready to listen. Taryn works collaboratively with clients and families to develop realistic goals, address concerns, and maintain progress throughout treatment. When working with children and adolescents, sessions may incorporate play and creative or expressive techniques to help them communicate and process their feelings in ways that feel comfortable and accessible.
